2016 Appalachian Heritage Writers Symposium - June 10 & 11
Since June of 2009, Southwest Virginia Community College, the Appalachian Arts Center, and Appalachian Authors Guild/A Chapter of the Virginia Writers Club have presented an annual major writers conference at Southwest Virginia Community College. Building upon the success of the preceding conferences, the eighth Appalachian Heritage Writers Symposium will be held at Southwest Virginia Community College on June 10 and 11, 2016.
The AHWS promotes authors who help preserve history and culture through Appalachian literature, provides workshops and presentations to aspiring and seasoned writers, and encourages visitors to explore the rich heritage and natural beauty of the region.
