Gary Kessler: Gary, a former news agency managing editor, newspaper columnist, and movie consultant, is an author and freelance book editor, credited with more than 100 published book projects. He can talk on writing espionage thrillers, journalism, and all aspects of the publishing process. His latest book, coauthored with Carol Kluz, is Finding Go: Matching Questions and Resources in Getting Published (Winterwolf, ISBN 0975271172). He served for nearly three decades with the U.S. government’s foreign media news agency (an overt division of the CIA), as both chief analyst and managing editor in Washington and Southeast Asia bureau deputy chief and Middle East bureau chief. He served as an entertainment columnist for four foreign English-language newspapers and as consultant for such motion pictures as The Deerhunter, The Killing Fields, and Good Morning Vietnam. Published author of a short story collection and two espionage thrillers, he conducted a worldwide, online editorial workshop for the WritersNet writers’ Web site, which resulted in the 2002 two-volume WritersNet Anthology of Prose.
