Bio
Diana Caron's professional career has spent 45 years in publishing, mostly magazine management, but my inner writer, D.L. Farrar, has written short stories, poetry, essays, blogs, stage plays, and music in my spare time. I have recently published a science-fiction book, 'Vincent and the Grief Masters,' available on Amazon, and I'm working on the sequel, 'Forbidden Fruit.' I have written stage plays professionally for large churches, participated in Hollywood's Project Green Light with an original screen play, and had poetry and short stories published in newspapers and publications. I am a 2022 Golden Nib winner, and 2024 participant. As secretary on the board of the Chesapeake Bay Writers, I am active in our region's program planning and member events. My husband and I relocated to Williamsburg, VA in 2018 and love this area of Virginia.

Dramatic musical screenplay, reviewed by HBO and Option offered with condition. Currently, re-writing it as a stage play.
Work 2 - Description
This is a musical screenplay set in the 1600's with fictitious main characters who fall in love against a wild and dangerous historical background in the colonies. Period costumes, water scenes, explosion scenes, wilderness scenes, palatial scenes all enticed HBO to consider taking an option on this piece and priced out a budget for it. It was first submitted to Hollywood's Project Green Light, conducted by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. It got into the final round of submissions before losing to less expensive screenplays. However, HBO was still interested after my elimination from the competition.

Spotswood Baptist Church, Fredericksburg, VA hired me to write this 3-Act Stage Play, complete with battle scenes, music and a story of a Southern family caught in the midst of the December, 1862 Battle of Fredericksburg. The message of acceptance, forgiveness, and a Christian message plays out and overcomes the ugliness of war. 8,000+ people attended the performances done in December of 2005 and 2006.
Work 5 - Title
Joy of Christmas!
Work 5 - Genre
(Nonfiction) Christianity
Work 5 - Genre (Other)
Christian Stage Play
Work 5 - Description
Swift Creek Baptist Church, Midlothian, VA hired me to write this Christmas play about a family having relationship issues within the family and particularly, the teenage son who questions his Christian upbringing. A very intimate and modern take on accepting Christ during times of stress and peer pressure of a fast-paced, tech-driven world. It was well received by the audiences.
