Riverside Writers has had an exciting summer, exploring the sci-fi dimension of "Creating Creatures" with Jim and John Gaines in May, enjoying an engaging session on "Sharing the
Art of Poetry" in a workshop organized by noted poet Derek Kannemeyer in June, sharing a score of new member writings in an open reading in July, and learning much of the fascinating profession of block printing with Emily Hancock of St. Brigid's Press in August. We look forward to a panel by the Women Mystery Writers in September, our day-long Parade of Prose in October, elections and open reading in November, and the annual Holiday Party in December. See our website for further information on the Parade of Poetry, which will involve members of other chapters in the state. Additionally, we have begun to organize our seventh anthology for future publication, and work will extend into 2017.
The chapter continues to hold weekly critique sessions Monday nights (7PM) at the Spotsylvania Mall Books-a-Million and monthly poetry salons at various venues announced on the website. Visit us also on Facebook.
