            Emily Walls Ray writes about nature, gatherings, memoir, and the art of conversation.  A native of Alabama, she lives in Richmond, Va., and is an Air Force veteran.  She is retired as a teacher of English and creative writing.  She writes a column for the Goochland Gazette, a weekly paper in Goochland, Virginia. The anthology Room for Poetry was written with other Richmond poets over a period of two years.  Her story, “Kamsamnida,” about her experience in South Korea in the United States Air Force, was published in The Richmond Magazine as winner of a short story contest.  She holds an M.F.A. in creative writing from Virginia Commonwealth University, an M.B.A. from Mississippi State University, and a B.A. from The University of Alabama.
